Problems with "Incompatible Medium Inserted" and a Pioneer DVR-A07XL...

Hello All!

I did a search but I can't seem to find anything similar to my problem. I've got a Pioneer DVR-A07XL drive and for the life of me I cannot get it to correctly identify Verbatim 8X DVD+R DL. I've updated the firmware through all the revisions from 1.10 to 1.22 and it still comes up as "Incompatible Medium Inserted."

Here's the ImgBurn Log:

And here's the info from DVRFlash:

Drive Information:
   Description : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D
  Firmware Rev : 1.22
 Firmware Date : 05/09/08
  Manufacturer : PIONEER
Drive is in normal mode.

Additional Drive Information:
 Serial Number : DCDC005356WL
Interface type : ATA
DVR generation : 0007
   Kernel type : PIO_ADV
   Normal type : PIO_ADV
Kernel version : 0002

        Status : RPC-2 (region locked)
        Region : 1
Changes : 4 region changes remaining
                 4 vendor resets remaining
                 state is 'Region set'

Is there some setting or something that I'm missing in ImgBurn? It's my understanding that this is basically just a function of the drive and firmware, but I thought I'd post here in case I'm just missing something obvious. I also posted over at The Firmware Page to see if they could give me any advice. I should also mention that I've checked the drive with Verbatim CD-R's and Verbatim DVD+R Single Layers and it works fine. The only thing I haven't tried yet are the 2.4x DL Verbatims.

Thanks In Advance!
