STUCK ON 99% SYNCHRONISING CACHE CANNOT FINALIZE ANY CD-R BUT DVDS ARE OK

I am having some trouble lately burning cd iso files , i have tried 4 different brands of disc and no matter what they all get stuck on 99% synchronising cache, i have tried all different burn speeds, i have latest firmware, it was working fine the other week, latest version of img burn, i have also tried , xpburner, poweriso, dvd decrypter all of them do the same thing is there anything i can do to sort this out, here is my latest log, there is nothing wrong with the actual iso image as i have burned it a fw times before. usually when it works synchronising cache will hang for a few seconds and then go to finalize but not recently it can be stuck there for an hour before i lose patience and try and cancel and then it wont, the only way i can get the dik out is manually eject and then have to restart the computer

It could be a driver issue.

Right click the drive selection box and click 'Family Tree' on the menu that pops up. Close the prompt and then copy + paste everything from the log window please.

As a side note, you could just burn that ISO to a DVD if they're working ok. It doesn't need to go on a CD.

Is that the latest rapid storage technology driver you can use on your chipset? (v8.8.0.1009)

Have you tried switching the controller back to IDE mode instead of AHCI mode - just to see if that makes a difference?

Posted

sorry yes i did try that from bios no joy, my problem is it was working fine and now wont its weird, ive just changed my dvd drive driver to another that was listed , will give that a go now

If it didn't work on ATA either (and assuming that change really did put the controller back in ata/ide mode - the device name would then be totally different), I doubt the driver will make a difference. Maybe the drive has developed a fault?

Posted

yes , maybe it has but... a few months ago it was doing the same but i put that down to shitty poundland cds, as i said up until last week was working sound, what ille do is tommorow will get another drive from work and try that out, and get back to you, thanks for your help so far :-)
