I have used Imgburn to make a DVD. It burned the files in what I woould consider a normal amount of time - however it has spent the last 5 hours and 25 minutes verifying the disc and has only got 43% towards completion?

Is this normal? If not, how do I fix things?

Thanking you.

Posted

No, that's not normal.

Please copy and paste everything from the log window so I can see the burn process and how far it's got with the verify one.

Thank you for your reply.

The verify has just finished. It took ten and a half hours. I pressed the log button and it had a message that said something about me putting my head in the sand? I found this information under "device" :-

Hope all of this has been of some help.

In the meantime I will just burn the discs and then test them by putting them in a DVD player and seeing if they work. - not verifying them.

Posted

Put ImgBurn into verify mode, turn off the 'verify against image file option' and then verify it again.

Theres no possible way to make a drive read a disc that slowly so I can only assume there was something else interfering with the process - like some other software accessing the drive / disc at the same time.

Once you know the sort of speed it's going to verify at (0.1x or 'normal'), you can abort it.
