Am I Getting Everything Possible Verified With ImgBurn - Log File Attached?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm having some burn issues (freezing discs on playback), just want to make sure I'm getting everything possible verified with ImgBurn? If not what do I need to do?

Are there any indications of any problems with this burn?

Thank you!

You didn't need a new thread to ask this, your previous one was fine.

The disc burnt and verified ok so it should at least be readable in the PC.

That said, I doubt burning at max speed (i.e. 12x) will be getting you the best quality burns.

Ok, sorry about that!

I don't know how to throttle the burn speed down, can you point me in the right direction? What speed would you recommend? I am using Verbatim BD-R 25GB 6X media.

Thank you!

If you're using 'Build' mode (which you are), you need to switch to the 'Device' tab and then adjust the 'Write Speed' drop down box.

Try 4x, 6x and 8x over your next few burns :)

You should be doing what I said in your previous thread though if it's still freezing on your PC. Make an ISO, mount it in a virtual drive program and play from the virtual drive. It could be the source files at fault and no amount of burning and reburning is going to fix that!

I do not find a "Write Speed" drop down box when I click Settings/Device?

Thank you!

I didn't say anything about 'Settings' :)

When you're in 'Build' mode, the 'Device' tab is the 2nd one in the bunch on the right ('Information' being the 1st).

Does this have to be set every time for each burn or can it somehow be set to be permanent? What does setting it to 100 copies do?

Thank you!

All my burn logs contain this line of text, does this mean I'm missing a Verify step, if so how do I correct: "I 18:54:21 BD-R Verify Not Required: Yes"

My BD movie backup burns are taking 25-26 minutes with full verify and Mode/Build/Device set to 4X, is this about normal?

Thank you!

That option stops the drive from doing an automatic verify process during the burn. As in it writes some sectors and then verifies them.

Simply turning that option off May not be enough to enable that drive feature though, you may also need to format the disc first so spare areas are created and the drive then enables its own hardware defect management feature (also displayed in the log).

It's normal if the average/max speeds mentioned in the log at the end of the burn tie in with the speed you'd selected.

Just to be clear, is my current setting what you would recommend or would I be better off changing it, if so to what and where would I find the setting to change?

Thank you!
