JBMouse Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 I am new to burning Blu-Ray discs, and have had some problems with burning films to dual layer Blu-Ray discs. I am using Verbatim 50GB BD-R DL discs. When burnt there are artefacts showing on the burnt disc at what I beieve to be the layer break, and now realise that I was not asked to choose the best layer break as in the DVD's that I have successfully burnt. Should there be a layer break option when using Imgburn to burn BDMV and Certificate folders to a Blu-Ray? Am I missing something/doing something wrong?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 You can't do anything with the physical layer break position on BD discs, they're just treated like larger single layer ones.
dbminter Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 On dual layer Blu-Ray video discs, is there a pause in playback at the layer break like there is sometimes on DVD-9 video?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 There shouldn't be if the player can read the disc ok and performs enough 'read ahead'.
JBMouse Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Thanks for the answers - the disc does play OK IF I let it play normally, i.e. the player is allowed to 'read ahead', but I have always checked a disc by skipping from one chapter to another, and in many instances the chapter starts where the layer break is situated, and no read ahead can take place. So, thankfully, problem sorted, just must remind myself to be more patient! Thanks for Imgburn, my programme of choice.
