I've been trying to create a bootable image of Windows XP SP3 using the option "Create Image from file/folder". Instead of giving me an .iso file, it gives me a compacted, winrar file and a separate boot image. What am I doing wrong?

It is making an ISO just fine. You've got WinRAR associated with ISO files.

Turn on the showing of file extensions within Explorer and tell WinRAR not to associate itself with ISO files.
