Argonaut Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Novice question. Just downloaded IMGburn. On first run, the IMG Burn log gives me a warning: * 14:11:04 Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. Is this something I need to take action on? ... do I need to remove/disbale something ? ImgBurn.log Edited January 31, 2014 by Argonaut
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 If your drive has a nice smooth transfer rate curve when reading back a DVD, no. If it seems to hit a limit (before 16x or whatever it should be capable of) and then be a bit 'all over the place', maybe.
Argonaut Posted January 31, 2014 Author Posted January 31, 2014 just did first burn, no issues reported, seemed to work fine. So looks like I can ignore it. Thnx.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 There's nothing in the log that'll tell you if you have the problem. You have to do some tests and examine the graphs. If you want to keep SPTD installed (because you use it with DAEMON Tools or whatever), at least ensure you're running the most recent version - v1.86 as of right now I believe. http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads
Argonaut Posted January 31, 2014 Author Posted January 31, 2014 I have no idea what uses this, I habe no SCSI drives A serach for SPTH or uplexsecure does not tell me where it is ... Is there a way to disable it ... could always turn it back on if I fins another program complaining
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 You can uninstall it by running the installation program on the download page I linked you to.
