muttleytm Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I am having burning an ISO file onto a DVD. When I tried using Windows Disk Image burner I get an error. The error code is 0x80004005 I then tried imgburn and I got this error message: Device Not Ready (no reference position found) The log file is below: I 02:46:44 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! I also tried using a lens cleaner CD to see if that would help which it didn't. I still couldn't burn a iso image to a disk. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything I might try? Thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Your drive can't burn DVDs, it can only read them (and burn CDs).
muttleytm Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Oh, OK. This is a new used drive. On my earlier drive I could write to DVDs too. I replaced that one because I could no longer read DVDs. I don't know about writing to it but I imagine that didn't work either. My DVD drive is a little non-standard. Its a slim drive but the connectors are a little different. It is an ultrabay enhanced drive that works with the IBM/Lenovo ultradrive. It allows you to take the drive in and out more conveniently and it has a bay that can accept a HD too. Thanks for the explanation. I'll keep this in mind when looking for a replacement.
