dbminter Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Whenever a disc needs to be formatted, the percentage complete jumps to 99% and stays there for the entire length of the format. What exactly is it that takes so long at 99% to complete a format?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 The % values come from the drive. It's probably a firmware bug.
dbminter Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Actually, I've seen that on every drive I can remember that I've used to format a rewritable disc.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 A very common firmware bug then - hahaha Some work fine, I remember seeing it with my own eyes. It could also depend on which type of media is being erased/formatted. Either way, the % complete is returned by the drive - with the exception of a quick erase on DVD+RW and BD-RE media, where ImgBurn is just zeroing the first few hundred sectors.
