terrypin Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 How is the 'Time' field meant to be interpreted please? While burning an ISO of a DVD I noticed that it's reporting '32:38:35'. Yet the DVD is only about 6? mins. Its size is correctly reported as about 300 MB. -- Terry, West Sussex, UK
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 It's based on the old CD format where a 74min CD = 650MB. 80min CD = 700MB. So basically, if you're not already familiar with it, ignore it It's nothing to do with the length of a bit of video on the disc.

But, if it's essentially meaningless, wouldn't it be better to either remove it altogether or (ideally) change it to an estimate of playing time on a 4.5 GB DVD? -- Terry, West Sussex, UK
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 It might be meaningless to you if you're always burning DVD images, it's not meaningless to me however when I burn CD ones.
