guruofsales Posted February 17, 2014 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Thank you for the great work that is Imgburn. I personally love the add to queue option to burn on the next available drive/burner. I have multiple .iso (all of the same size) for my education videos and I run into a problem every time I have to burn more then 3 dvds. Here is my setup in details: I have 2 computers on a a gigabit network, computer A and computer B. Computer A is the one attached to the external USB (self powered with adapter from wall) hard drive. Computer A have 3 super multi internal DVD burners (1, 2 and 3) Computer B have 2 super multi internal DVD burners (4 and 5) When burning 3 different .iso I use burner 1, 4 and 5 with no issues speed wise. All burns in less than 5 minutes simultaneously. When I have 4 different .iso files I use burner 1, 2, 4 and 5 all at the same time over the network. Again burner 1, 4 and 5 perform perfectly and finishes within 5 minutes, however, burner 2 takes 18 to 21 minutes, even after the 1, 4 and 5 are done, burner 2 continue to burn at 18 minutes. When I have 5 different .iso files to burn at the same time, again 1, 4 and 5 perform just as fast and finishes within 5 minutes, however , burner 2 is around 18 minutes and burner 3 takes 56 minutes. When burning more than 5 different .iso files, 1, 4 and 5 will finish within 5 minutes, burner 2 takes 18 minutes, burner 3 takes 56 minutes, I can then load and start burning on 1, 4 and 5 (2 more times) while the first dvd is still burning in 2 and 3. I know that this is not a network speed issue because I can load dvds on 4 and 5 many times before the first dvd in 3 would finish. It is also not a hdd speed issue otherwise it would have speed up burner 2 or 3 when the others are done or at least slowed down 1, 4 or 5 the second time around. Could this be a power supply issue? Is there a setting I am missing in Imgburn to keep the speed high and consistent within computer A? Or is there anything I am doing wrong? All my settings are the same for imgburn on both computers and all the burners are the same brand and model. Any advice will be helpful and thank you in advance. LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 18, 2014 Share Posted February 18, 2014 What are the buffers doing on the slow drives? If they're both full, they must have slowed themselves down for some reason. I see nothing in your post saying 2 and 3 ever work as quickly as the rest. Maybe it's the way they're connect or how their channels are configured - PIO / DMA mode etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

To be exact, (Buffer is 97% to 100%) and (Device buffer goes from 24% to 100% repeatedly and almost instantly), (Wright speed is x 0.7 at the most). All the drives on both machines are connected with the same SATA 3 cables, same pc configs. Don't know how to read or configures channels (is that within windows?) and also how to see PIO or DMA? Another scenario I forgot to mention is that if I only burn on 2 alone or 2 and 3 at the same time it's also slow, but not as slow as above, it's about 15 minutes on 2 and 35 minutes on 3. Posted February 27, 2014 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Go into write mode and go through each of your drives (in the 'destination' selection box), right clicking on said box and selecting 'Family Tree'. Close the prompts that come up and just copy + paste everything from the Log window. Make sure you highlight which drives have the problem. I can only assume they're connected differently somehow (a different controller maybe) or have PIO/DMA issues. Try unplugging the slow drives and switch them with one that's working full speed. Are they then ok? If so, that at least rules out the drive itself and then it's just down to your hardware/software configuration. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
