dbminter Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Are the write rates sometimes an estimate? I ask because of this line in a log: I 14:15:58 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:00:19I 14:15:58 Average Write Rate: 117,261 KiB/s (86.7x) - Maximum Write Rate: 117,261 KiB/s (86.7x) Notice how the Average and the Maximum Write Rates are the same. The odd thing is I actually watched the write to HDD image and it said at some point it was writing at 155x! So, I don't know why the Maximum Write Rate isn't 155.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Not what I'd call estimates, no. They're all based on the amount of data being read/written over a period of time. They're averaged sometimes though (over a period of a few seconds etc) and there's code in place to try and reduce/ignore massive spikes where the cache/buffering is doing all of the hard work and it isn't a true read/write rate.
