hey folks...

i've been using imgburn and this drive for awhile now and never had any issues. i am totally coaster free and it's great. :) however, i just decided i might as well start using the DL feature, so i went out and bought two packs of DL discs, figuring i'd probably get stuck with one set of bum discs. i got hp discs, CMC-MAG-D01 and memorex, RITEK-D01-001. according to various media guides i've read, ritek are kinda garbage, but the cmc claims to be better (tier 3 quality according to the guide at digitalfaq.com). well, so, neither will burn. :/

my firmware is 2.06, so maybe i should update, yeah...? here's a snippet from the log:

any suggestions appreciated. firmware flashing always scares me (bad experience with a mobo once). if that's my answer, i may need moral support. :(

So, go get tier 1 quality Verbatims and your problems will vanish.

CMCs make great frisbees. I'm sure their factory could be converted in no time. However, you should never waste your money on them if your intention is to use them as blank media.
