Matt B Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Hello folks. Thank you for your precious time! Issue: I need to create an ISO of my DVD-based Windows XP OS (I plan on using the ISO to create a bootable USB for installing Windows XP on a desktop PC whose DVD drive isn't working any longer). How, then, do I create the Windows XP ISO (from the Windows XP DVD) using IMGBURN? Thank you! Edited March 16, 2014 by Matt B
spinningwheel Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I believe that the data on the XP disc is protected. If that is the case, ImgBurn will not copy the data in order to create an ISO.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 You should probably google for how to install XP from a USB stick and just do what it says. I've never seen a protected OS disc from Microsoft so ImgBurn's Read mode should work just fine if you need an ISO. If that isn't what you need, explorer shouldn't have any trouble copying the files off the disc.
