I have been using Imgburn for years with no problem but I have been getting failure on DVD+R iso burn. It is XP iso and I have copied it before with no problem.Try as I might same problem each time. I updated the firmware, replaced the 80wire ATA cable and also removed the slave CD. I tested it on NeroDiscSpeed no error

I tried different media (maxell), reduced the write speed form AWS to 4x to 2x  and also took the cover off and gently cleaned the lens with alcohol and a Q-Tip

Is this a drive failure? It is a very old writer, suppose I better change to Win8 - but what I've seen of it really don't like the interface though (seems to be touch screen orientated) and I'm getting to that age where I don't like change - Bah Humbug!
