Flatseventh Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I downloaded and installed Imgburn on my wifes Windows 7 computer with no problem but would like to install it on my Windows XP music computer which is not connected to the internet. I downloaded Imgburn-setup.exe on the Windows 7 PC, copied it onto a USB stick and put the stick into the XP computer. When I attempt to run the setup I get an error message saying "installer unable to access server". I tried running setup off of the stick and also copied the .exe onto the computer and tried running it like that. Same error message either way. It seems to be looking for files to download which it obviously can't do on a non internet computer. Is there a way around this problem? Can Imgburn only be installed on an internet PC or am I doing something wrong here? I did a quick search through the guides and this forum and found no mention of this problem. This is an excellent program and I would like to use it on my music computer; any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 ImgBurn-setup.exe isn't the name of the normal setup program. It should be 'SetupImgBurn_2.5.8.0.exe' for the current release and it shouldn't require internet access to install.
Flatseventh Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Thank you for a very quick reply. Well, that was certainly a fast fix. I found the correct file, downloaded it, copied it and installed it onto the other computer in about the time its taken me to write this reply(admittedly I type slowly). I'll say that the download sites say Imgburn on the page and have an amazing number of these DOWNLOAD NOW buttons but most of them download you any of a potpourri of programs that are not Imgburn. I check the file name before saving to my pc and when I finally found a file that said Imgburn setup on it I figured it had to be the correct one. Boy was I wrong. A belated peak at the file properties showed it to be 75 mbs. twenty times the proper size. Anyway, armed with the proper name I found the correct file in short order. Thank you very much for your time and for the extremely rapid solution to my problem. Cheers!
