gamerphil07 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I've tried multiple times to burn a game onto my CD-R with no luck. The game boot up on the system up to the logo, and then I get a black screen. My PS1 is chipped, as practically all my games on it are burned by a friend. Even after verification, the disc doesn't work properly.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 The game could be detecting your chip if it isn't a stealth one. Some games may require 'RAW' mode burning... which ImgBurn doesn't do. Try something like CloneCD and see if you run into the same problem.
gamerphil07 Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Just used CloneCD with the same results. It goes to the Playstation Logo and stops.
gamerphil07 Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) By the looks of it, I'm leaving something important out of the process. First I download the ROM and make sure that it's an iso. Then I write it onto the disc. It seems too simple to be right. What I don't get is how the PS logo even shows up. LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 If it was an image you needed to burn with CloneCD, it wouldn't just be an ISO anyway. An ISO wouldn't contain the info required by a proper 'RAW' mode burn. At this point, I'd have to say it's either the source image that's the problem or your playback device (either the chip being detected or it not liking the discs very much).
gamerphil07 Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) So should I use an .img file instead? I'l try using a different file as well. EDIT: I tried using an .img file and it didn't show the PS logo. It only does when it's an ISO. Edited May 1, 2014 by gamerphil07
