I wanted share an experience rather than looking for any particular resolution.

Ive been running imgburn on a Win 8.0 machine for some time.

After upgrading to 8.1, i'll get verification errors while burning an image almost immediately when the verify pass starts.

If i choose 'no, dont continue verifying the disk', imgburn hangs. The disk is locked in the drive at this point, i cant eject, or close imgburn. I can 'end' the process but the disk is still locked. Shutting down the machine also hangs.

If i hold the power button to shutdown, something invariably gets corrupted in the os and i have to restore back to 8.0, where everything is fine.

i cant provide a log and i have no plans to upgrade this particular machine to 8.1 again.

It was probably due to a driver update or something that's misbehaving and that stops processing the I/O. That's why the whole machine gets stuck and can't shut down.

Which controller is the drive attached to? Go into Write mode, right click the drive selection box and click 'Family Tree'. Close the message box that pops up and then copy + paste everything from the log window please.
