killatoyota4569 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hey guys whats going on, well I am getting an I/O Error every so often. I have the correct or I think I have the correct settings for ImgBurn, for making backups of my Xbox 360 games. I have burned many games, and sometimes I get an I/O error. Idk why or what gives. But when I do, I just restart the computer and burn again and I get a good burn. 100% complete. Is there a reason to this or method?? Also Here is my Log from an I/O Error: 18:34:27 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started!I 18:34:27 Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1)I 18:34:27 Total Physical Memory: 6,219,144 KiB - Available: 3,926,880 KiBI 18:34:27 Initialising SPTI...I 18:34:27 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 18:34:27 -> Drive 1 - Info: ATAPI iHAS124 B AL0S (F:) (SATA)I 18:34:27 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM!I 18:34:40 Operation Started!I 18:34:40 Source File: G:\Xbox 360 Games\Far.Cry.4\far.cry.4.dvdI 18:34:40 Source File Sectors: 4,267,015 (MODE1/2048)I 18:34:40 Source File Size: 8,738,846,720 bytesI 18:34:40 Source File Volume Identifier: DVD_ROMI 18:34:40 Source File Volume Set Identifier: f4fb8000MS UDFBridgeI 18:34:40 Source File Application Identifier: CDIMAGE 2.45 (12/06/2000 TM)I 18:34:40 Source File Implementation Identifier: Microsoft CDIMAGE UDFI 18:34:40 Source File File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.50)I 18:34:40 Destination Device: [6:0:0] ATAPI iHAS124 B AL0S (F:) (SATA)I 18:34:40 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: UMEDISC-DL1-64)I 18:34:40 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8xI 18:34:40 Destination Media Sectors: 4,267,040I 18:34:40 Destination Media L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,133,520 (Changeable: Yes)I 18:34:40 Write Mode: DVDI 18:34:40 Write Type: DAOI 18:34:40 Write Speed: 2.4xI 18:34:40 DVD+R DL Reserve Track: NoI 18:34:40 Link Size: AutoI 18:34:40 Lock Volume: YesI 18:34:40 Test Mode: NoI 18:34:40 OPC: YesI 18:34:40 BURN-Proof: EnabledW 18:34:40 Write Speed Miscompare! - Wanted: 3,324 KB/s (2.4x), Got: 5,540 KB/s (4x)W 18:34:40 The drive only supports writing these discs at 4x, 6x, 8x.I 18:34:40 Book Type Setting: DVD-ROMI 18:34:40 Advanced Settings - Force HT: Yes, Online HT: No, OverSpeed: No, SmartBurn: YesI 18:34:40 CD/DVD Life Record Count: 108 - CD/DVD Record Count: 5I 18:35:11 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,133,520I 18:35:11 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original DiscW 18:35:11 Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter ListI 18:35:11 L0 Data Zone Capacity - Effective: 2,133,520I 18:35:11 Filling Buffer... LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 You appear to be using low quality UME discs rather than the decent MKM ones that everywhere/one recommends.
killatoyota4569 Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 You appear to be using low quality UME discs rather than the decent MKM ones that everywhere/one recommends. I dont have any issues with the discs, they Have always worked for me flawlessly. They are the same disc as the MKM these can just be printed on. I dont think it has to do with the disc at all.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Ok, what answer would you like to hear? They are nothing like MKM discs. Have you ever even paid attention to the MID / dye before?
killatoyota4569 Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 they are the same disc mate, how can you say they are not, they are verbatim discs made from the same shit. these u can just print on. how can they be different??? and im looking for an answer besides ohhh ur using shitty discs. cuz I burned many many games with these discs and get no errors running thru xbox. I get better Kprobe results than some of my friends with these discs, sometimes I get I/O errrors and I wonder why.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Different dye, different MID, different burning strategy in the drive's firmware. If they're branded as verbatim, they're probably from their basic / value range. You're getting write errors because your drive can't burn to them. They might scan ok when you do get an ok one, but you get far more bad ones that just fail than you would with a spindle of mkm-003-00 discs.

They arent branded Verbatim, They are made by Verbatim. It is the same disc as the mkm-003 just these u can print on. I dont see how u see a difference any information u can send my way. Like I said out of the 50 that come in a spindle Ill get about 8 to 10 I/O Errors, so I really dont think it is the disc.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Obviously they aren't the same discs as the ones using mkm-003-00 dye / mid or they'd have the mkm-003-00 dye / mid! Being printable has nothing to do with anything. You can buy printable versions of any dye / mid.

killatoyota4569 Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Hey Lightning. OK everytime I burn they burn fine. It is when they go to Verify that it gets to about 45-49% and I get I/O Error. What could be the cause of this? And do I have to Verify the Games being Burnt? Or is it safe to uncheck Verify? I just burnt 5 games fine, but last one I forgot to uncheck Verify and it got the I/O error
killatoyota4569 Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Buy a new drive The best out there right now is that Sony Optica ? Correct?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 If they don't verify, it means the drive can't read the disc. It's not a good sign if the drive that just burnt it can't read it.... Obviously it didn't burn it very well. Telling the program not to verify doesn't make it any more or less readable, it just means the program can't tell you there are problems. The Optiarc 5280-CB-Plus is a good drive for overburning Dvd+R DL discs, yes. It will overburn mkm-03-00 with minimal fuss.
