Quansword Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) I've been trying to burn AVCHD.iso to a disk for the better part of the day, and it's just not working. Every time I try this, it gets to 3% completion, then the write rate goes to 0 and the device buffer just slowly goes between 9% and 27%. I honestly don't know why it would be doing this, I haven't burned anything with ImgBurn yet, but I tried to research the hell out of this thing. Can anybody figure out what's wrong here? I'm on my last disk. Here's the log: I 16:52:35 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 This is probably due to your drivers. Optical drives don't like being on controllers in RAID mode. Right click the destination drop down box when you're in Write mode and pick 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt that comes up and then copy + paste everything from the Log window please.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Thar's a shame, the info doesn't include the version number on your system. Do you know which version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology drive you've got installed? Are you actually using RAID on your machine or could you go into the BIOS and put it in AHCI mode? It might be worth booting into Safe Mode and seeing if everything works ok in that.
Quansword Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Hopefully what you need is in here, but it does look like I'm using RAID. LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 There's an A11 bios update available for your laptop. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=Y1VWX&fileId=3210558357&osCode=W764&productCode=alienware-m18x-r2&languageCode=EN&categoryId=BI For the intel rapid storage tech driver, there are loads to try... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55005/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST- Yours is 11.7, then there's a 12.0, 12.5,12.8,12.9, 13.1, 13.2 and finally 13.6. Hopefully one of those will do the trick. Normally I'd expect the optical drive to be on port 4 or 5 (where ports start on port 0). That way, the RAID portion has ports 0 - 3 (4 in total) and the remaining 2 ports (assuming the usual 6 in total) can be left in AHCI mode - as the last 2 don't normally support RAID at all.
Quansword Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Well, that definitely fixed it (and writing at 6x instead of 4x). Thank you. Now I just seem to have the problem of my blu ray player not reading the disks. I can still access the .m2ts file on my computer and watch the movies that way though, so I'm satisfied. But just in case you can help, do you have any ideas as to why my blu ray player can't read the disks?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Which version did you go with? Does your disc have the proper folder structure for an avchd disc? You mention the m2ts file, hopefully that isn't all you've got on the disc?
Quansword Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) I used UDF 2.5 on all of them (I assume that's what you meant by version). Also, I believe so, I have these folders on the disks: BDMV: - AUXDATA - BACKUP: - - BDJO - - CLIPINF: - - - 00000.clpi - - JAR - - PLAYLIST: - - - 00000.mpls - - index.bdmv - - MovieObject.bdmv - BDJO - CLIPINF: - - 00000.clpi - JAR - META - PLAYLIST: - - 00000.mpls - STREAM - - 00000.m2ts - index.bdmv - MovieObject.bdmv CERTIFICATE: - BACKUP Edited April 17, 2015 by Quansword
