50GB blu-rays always fail in varifcation.

My 50 GB blu-ray discs almost always fail in varification. I get the  "Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error." I'm using Verbatim BD-R DL DataLifePlus discs. I'm using an LG LG Electronics 14X USB 3.0 Super-Multi External Blu-ray Disc Rewriter BE14NU40 (DVD+/-RW with M-DISC Support). I have a Windows 10 system. In addtion, the discs seem to play okay after they fail in verifcation.  Thanks.

Your drive certainly seems to be having trouble reading them back.

A retry or 2 might work around the issue but there must be some underlying problem. If you had the hardware to scan the disc to check the burn quality, you'd probably find it's not very good - or the drive is just bad at reading those discs in general.

You might like to try installing the most recent firmware.

I'd also recommend trying the other available write speeds as the drive might do a better job when burning more slowly.

So, update the firmware and try burning at 4x instead of 'MAX'.

Thanks. I allways press the retry a few times, and it never works. I'll give your recommendations a shot this weekend and let you know how it goes. Can you recommend the hardware or a program to check the burn quailty? Does it seem to you like my drive is defective? As I pointed out, these discs do play back. Thanks.
