Phenotypex Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Hello was backing up one of my xbox360 games and the game seemed to burn fine during the whole burning process until it got to 99% finalised, then it said Finalization failed. The drive is an Optiarc 5280S-CB-Plus and the disk is a Verbatim DVD-DL 8x. I put my drive away for about 6 months and when I took it out it burned a few games fine but now its doing this. Can these games be saved and manually finalized? Ive tried the Tools-Drive-Close Track and nothing happens when I click on it, Ive tried all modes. Heres the log of the finalization fail:I 08:21:50 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started!I 08:21:50 Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1)I 08:21:50 Total Physical Memory: 13,836,660 KiB - Available: 12,045,884 KiBI 08:21:50 Initialising SPTI...I 08:21:50 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 08:21:50 -> Drive 1 - Info: DTSOFT BDROM 1.05 (G:) (Virtual)I 08:21:50 -> Drive 2 - Info: ASUS DVD RAM GHB1N AS00 (D:) (SATA)I 08:21:50 -> Drive 3 - Info: Optiarc DVD RW AD-5280S 1.Z8 (F:) (USB 2.0)I 08:21:50 Found 1 DVD±RW, 1 DVD±RW/RAM and 1 BD-ROM!I 08:22:43 Operation Started!I 08:22:43 Source File: C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\NHL.Legacy.Edition.XBOX360-iMARS\imars.nle.360.dvdI 08:22:43 Source File Sectors: 4,267,015 (MODE1/2048)I 08:22:43 Source File Size: 8,738,846,720 bytesI 08:22:43 Source File Volume Identifier: DVD_ROMI 08:22:43 Source File Volume Set Identifier: 24c8000I 08:22:43 Source File Application Identifier: CDIMAGE 2.45 (12/06/2000 TM)I 08:22:43 Source File Implementation Identifier: Microsoft CDIMAGE UDFI 08:22:43 Source File File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.50)I 08:22:43 Destination Device: [0:0:0] Optiarc DVD RW AD-5280S 1.Z8 (F:) (USB)I 08:22:43 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-003-00)I 08:22:43 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8xI 08:22:43 Destination Media Sectors: 4,267,040I 08:22:43 Destination Media L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,133,520 (Changeable: Yes)I 08:22:43 Write Mode: DVDI 08:22:43 Write Type: DAOI 08:22:43 Write Speed: 6xI 08:22:43 DVD+R DL Reserve Track: NoI 08:22:43 Link Size: AutoI 08:22:43 Lock Volume: YesI 08:22:43 Test Mode: NoI 08:22:43 OPC: NoI 08:22:43 BURN-Proof: EnabledI 08:22:43 Write Speed Successfully Set! - Effective: 8,310 KB/s (6x)I 08:22:43 Book Type Setting: DVD-ROMI 08:22:43 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,133,520I 08:22:43 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original DiscI 08:22:48 Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Succeeded!I 08:22:48 L0 Data Zone Capacity - Effective: 2,133,520I 08:22:49 Filling Buffer... LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Does the same happen if you burn at 4x ? As for the ones you've already burnt, put one back in the drive and go into read mode. Copy and paste the disc information from the box on the right.
Phenotypex Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Yes, I used to normally burn on 4x and it used to work for me fine. After failing finalization a few times I decided to switch to 6x and it worked for the game I originally failed finalization with, but then I tried a different game and same problem, writes the game fine, gets through finalization fine all the way to 99% then says failed. Here is the info you asked for. LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Is the disc actually 100% readable? Verify it against the image you burnt. You could try another new spindle of discs. If it does the same thing, the problem might be the drive itself.
Phenotypex Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 The disk appears to be 100% complete when I look at it on my computer, but when I put it in my xbox it doesnt read the game, it just acts like theres no game in the drive at all. When I try to verify it, it fails. Does that mean that either my drive or the disk caused an error when writing and it wasnt fully written properly?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Yes, if it fails to verify, there's something wrong with it. Be sure to verify it in your Optiarc though, not the Asus.
dbminter Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Optiarcs are fairly old. They haven't been made in years as far as I know. So, your drive may be the problem.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 The 5280S-CB is a special drive DB and I believe is still being produced by Vinpower Digital in one way or another. They're still available on Amazon anyway and no other Optiarcs are really.
dbminter Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Yeah, last I heard, Sony had retired the Optiarc line. I've never heard of Vinpower Digital before.
