ngant17 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I'm really impressed by the ease of use for ImgBurn. However I keep trying to put my MP3s in chronological order so they will appear the same way when burned on CD, but it keeps getting mixed up. I tried the CUE function, but it won't put all the MP3 files on the CD. It's important to get the playlist in order, as the MP3s are basically dated by Sunday sermons from August to October, so having a 2 Aug sermon in the middle of the 11 October sermon is really not the best way to do it. The MP3s are added in sequence by date, but they don't seem to get burned in the same dated order. Is there a trick I'm missing here?
ngant17 Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 To answer my own question partially, I found out that burning MP3s as data files will let you put all 700MB of the audio you want, but it you want to burn it as a traditional audio CD, you only get 80 mins, the file size is ignored, which forces the software to put less than half the number of MP3s I want to put on one CD. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to get an ordered playlist by burning the MP3s as data files, although I'm sure it's easy enough as audio MP3 files. Can I get an ordered playlist by MP3 (data) files without having to treat them as audio playlist files?

LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 The order comes from the names of the files. If you want them in order, you'd need to find how the playback device reads them and adjust to suite. Numbering with 001, 002 etc prefixes is the normal way of doing it.

I renamed the 12 MP3s, (Aug-Oct 2015 sermons) which previously were alphanumeric, into purely numeric files: 001.MP3, 002.MP3...012.MP3. Burned into the correct chronological order this way. BTW why do MP3 audio files take up so more space than MP3 data files? I'm gettting what appears to be over 300 mins. of audio on a standard CD when it's burned in as MP3 data files. The MP3 are compressed files so you can put a lot more on a CD depending on the compression level. The other disc is standard Audio CD with uncompressed audio, that's why will only fit a few files on a regular 700 MB disc, usually 80 minutes of playable audio files
