Burn Failure - Unknown (Internal Target Failure)

I've been trying to burn an Optical Quantum 4.7 GB DVD+R 16X Speed with the Win 10 download install program. I get a failed burn each time. The log file is quoted below.

Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this issue?

I'm running Win 7 Pro 64-bit and the included burner fails as well.

Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks for the support.

I suspect a dirty optical drive issue. These drives are six years old and I've never cleaned them. I didn't know they made cleaning disks for optical drives. Someone on another forum suggested cleaning the lasers with isopropyl alcohol. I'm going to look into that to see what I have to do to get good access to the lasers. A lot of dirty air has been sucked through these optical drives over the past six years likely due to their position in the case and the four 120mm case fans that cause the flow.

The Pioneer drive can detect both DVD and CD media as being empty and will attempt the burn, but it's always unsuccessful as indicated in the logs. The Samsung drive can detect DVD and CD media, but thinks the empty DVD media isn't empty. It won't even attempt a burn with either ImgBurn or the Win 7 burner software.

Do any of the ImgBurn settings need to be adjusted from default to effect a good burn on either a DVD or a CD?

Thanks again for the support.

Well, the first cleaning with isopropyl alcohol has made some improvement. Although there were still errors indicated at the end of the burn, the verify indicated that the burn was successful. CDCheck indicated three files with data errors (cyclic redundancy check). That might not appear to be very good results, but it's a big improvement after a few wipes with a cotton swab saturated with isopropyl alcohol. Prior to the first cleaning, the DVDs were unreadable and ImgBurn indicated failed burns. A second more thorough cleaning may resolve this issue.
