Bizkit989 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Greetings.Recently I've stumbled upon an issue with Imgburn. I was trying to make a MP3 CD so I can play it in my car.The CD which I was using to burn is "Maxell CD-R 80MIN 700MB 52x" (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-Maxell-CD-R-80MIN-700MB-52x-Compact-Disc-Recordable-/300585747603 - this type of CD)I've used the Build option to burn the files, because it always worked before with ISO9660 + Joliet option at 2x speed. What's bothering me is that I've recently burned another CD (using the same Maxell type CD) with music which is around 555MB and has 4-5 hours of music with no problem. When I've tried to burn another CD which has around 3-4 hours of music (420MB size file) with same settings I've received this error:Any help would be appreciated.Log here:I 00:35:33 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started!I 00:35:33 Microsoft Windows 8 Professional x64 Edition (6.2, Build 9200)I 00:35:34 Total Physical Memory: 8.348.848 KiB - Available: 6.416.292 KiBI 00:35:34 Initialising SPTI...I 00:35:34 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 00:35:34 -> Drive 1 - Info: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-222BB SB00 (E:) (SATA)I 00:35:34 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM!I 00:36:25 Operation Started!I 00:36:25 Building Image Tree...I 00:36:36 Checking Directory Depth...I 00:36:36 Calculating Totals...I 00:36:36 Preparing Image...I 00:36:36 Checking Path Length...I 00:36:36 Contents: 7 Files, 0 FoldersI 00:36:36 Content Type: DataI 00:36:36 Data Type: MODE1/2048I 00:36:36 File System(s): ISO9660, JolietI 00:36:36 Volume Label: Vice CityI 00:36:36 Size: 440.632.990 bytesI 00:36:36 Sectors: 215.158I 00:36:36 Image Size: 440.696.832 bytesI 00:36:36 Image Sectors: 215.184I 00:36:39 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:00:13I 00:36:39 Operation Started!I 00:36:39 Source File: -==/\/[bUILD IMAGE]\/\==-I 00:36:39 Source File Sectors: 215.184 (MODE1/2048)I 00:36:39 Source File Size: 440.696.832 bytesI 00:36:39 Source File Volume Identifier: Vice CityI 00:36:39 Source File Volume Set Identifier: UNDEFINEDI 00:36:39 Source File Application Identifier: ImgBurn v2.5.8.0 - The Ultimate Image Burner!I 00:36:39 Source File Implementation Identifier: ImgBurn v2.5.8.0I 00:36:39 Source File File System(s): ISO9660; JolietI 00:36:39 Destination Device: [0:0:0] TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-222BB SB00 (E:) (SATA)I 00:36:39 Destination Media Type: CD-R (Disc ID: 97m17s06f, Moser Baer India)I 00:36:39 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 16x; 24x; 32x; 40x; 48xI 00:36:39 Destination Media Sectors: 359.847I 00:36:39 Write Mode: CDI 00:36:39 Write Type: SAOI 00:36:39 Write Speed: 2xI 00:36:39 Lock Volume: YesI 00:36:39 Test Mode: NoI 00:36:39 OPC: NoI 00:36:39 BURN-Proof: EnabledW 00:36:39 Write Speed Miscompare! - Wanted: 353 KB/s (2x), Got: 2.823 KB/s (16x)W 00:36:39 The drive only supports writing these discs at 16x; 24x; 32x; 40x; 48x.I 00:36:39 Filling Buffer... LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Your drive is producing an unreadable disc. It's nothing to do with what you're burning or how much you're burning, it's just one of those things with the drive/firmware/media combo you're using. Try installing the latest firmware and give it another go. http://www.tsstodd.com/eng/firmware/fwdownload/?functionvalue=view&no=812 If it still doesn't work, try different 'supported' write speeds (notice 2x isn't even an option so it's using 16x) and try different discs.
Bizkit989 Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Many thanks for a rather fast reply, even though I didn't reply back in time (I had some work to do). I've updated to latest firmware, restarted the PC and gave the burning another go. It worked perfectly.Maybe it's just me, but I have a feeling that the "Verify" option was causing the issue, because when I burn stuff I always tick the option "Verify" before burning.Anyways, thanks again for the support. LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Verify can't cause issues, it finds them!
