Hi LIGHTNING UK!,

Need help understanding drive settings for imgburn. I have seen a window box that says "Change Advanced Settings" - inside is a window > "Welcome - please select the appropriate tab for your device settings"

My device details

------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Why is the model at the top correct, but at the bottom it talks about Sony (both in bold)?

2) What information/settings do I need to enter/change in imgburn - and where?

3) What advantages / benefits become available for doing this?

Thanks for any input you are able to give.

SM.

1. No idea. That's just how it's coded in the firmware.

2. ImgBurn handles your drive automatically... it's a LiteOn. The current configuration of your drive's advanced settings is displayed in the log you posted in your previous thread. The only option your model supports changing is the 'SmartBurn' one.

3. You'd have to search for what smartburn actually does. This is a drive feature and nothing to do with ImgBurn.

Appreciate the guidance,

I can't work out if you are telling me that smartburn is already active and in use or not.

If not - what steps do I need to take to get it active and working (and if you think smart burn has been found to be good in practice).

I understand what it is now, but I have no experience if it is actually all it claims to be in real use - and if it is worth having on.
