peeler Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I have looked through all the instructions and an answer to my simple question. How do I copy both music and text on to a cd. What does tag mean, what does custom mean what effect do the various buttons have at the bottom of the cue creation screen. What combination of these buttons will enable me to copy both a song and the artist and album on to a cd if I have all that information in the cue list. thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Tag reads the 'tag' (metadata) from the audio file. Google 'ID3 tags' for an idea on what they are. Custom lets you type in your own values. Which buttons are you talking about? There are only 3 (Quick OK, OK, Cancel) and 2 (OK, Cancel) should be very obvious. Do you mean something else? The defaults work best.
peeler Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 thank you for your reply. At the bottom of the cue screen, there are options. CD-Text: none, file name tag and custom. Then there is title and performer. Depending upon which selection is made under the cd-text - the title and performer is blank, grayed out or black. Then there is default cd-text where there are another list with selections cd-text (disc track). Under that are more selections - none tag and custom. none is obvious. Does (tag) metadata mean the title of the song, the song and the artist? Is that the meaning of tag? and will selecting tag always mean that the artist and the title of the song will appear on the recorded cd? and what does custom accomplish? does it do something in addition to tag. In copying is the first line of choices stand alone or is it important to also use the default disc/track buttons as well? is default stand alone? In other words do they need to be used in combination? quick ok ok and cancel are obvious but what comes before is not. Thank you again for walking me through this.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 The options related to 'default' something are what gets selected by default for items you add. So if you pick a default of 'tag', each file you add has that option selected by default. Yes, each option for where the cdtext info comes from (none, file name, tag, custom) applies to the track title and the track artist. Tag means the program will try and read title / artist from the file's metadata. If none is present, there's nothing to read and the fields will be blank.
