After many months of successfully burning via IMGBurn using Verbatim DVD+R Dual Layer discs, I am suddenly getting frustrated with burning coasters (only on Dual Layer) and constant 'potential bogus driver error detected' messages. Or is Secure's SPTD driver something you just recently installed? The only thing I can offer is that. If that's even a suspect or not, I can't say. As far as I am aware, the message you refer to has always been present.i have never had any issue burning Dual Layer discs until a couple of days ago and haven't changed anything to my knowledge. LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 9, 2016 Share Posted July 9, 2016 Have you tried burning at a different speed? Give 4x a go. Maybe try enabling the perform opc before write option too. Have a go at burning from within safe mode to check it still occurs on a clean / minimal boot. I dare say your drive really is having trouble burning the 2nd layer and the bogus error is actually bogus itself in this specific case. Have you opened a new spindle of discs recently? Havent opened a new batch of spindles, from the batch of 25 I had at least 15 previous good burns with no issues, just the last 6-8 now are giving me problems. dbminter Posted July 9, 2016 Share Posted July 9, 2016 From what I've seen, when you start getting Power Calibration Errors after you have had no problem with burning discs before, your drive most likely needs replacing. Unfortunately, dual layer burning will generally be the first thing to fail in a drive. Everything else will, generally, still burn fine as long as its single layer.
