jc8952 Posted September 4, 2016 Share Posted September 4, 2016 Please Help! it burns the first layer but fails on the second. it happens no matter what brand of disk I use (all are 8x) the drive is only two months old and I've burned dual layer disks on it when trying it after it was first installed. Do I have something set wrong? Here is the log.... dbminter Posted September 8, 2016 Share Posted September 8, 2016 Yeah, I'd first suspect the CMC discs, too, for dual layer discs. Just because you used a disc with some other company name on it doesn't mean they made it. Or that it's even an entirely different disc. Those that worked before may not have a MID/DID of CMC. They could have been MKM or some other higher quality disc. If they were Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD+R DL's, they were MKM's and of higher quality than CMC junk. However, Verbatim also releases junk CMC DVD+R DL as part of their Life series. (NOT DataLifePlus.) So, you never really can tell, and they can always change. Optodisc used to make their own DVD-R then switched to junk CMC's. I switched from Optodisc and never looked back. You only get 1 chance to make an impression with me.
