BryanP Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Im trying to burn some flac files onto a cd-r and its giving me an error (posted below) i looked it up and found a post on here about installing mad flac a different way by dropping a file onto the install filter thing and tried that but it didnt work and wanted to know if anyone has an idea on how to fix it. really wanted some kansas on a cd man i love that band :< the error i get when trying to add the files to a cue: E 16:24:20 ConnectFilters(Source, Sample Grabber) Failed! E 16:24:20 File Name: C:\Users\Bryan\Desktop\Kansas - Leftoverture [24 bit FLAC] vinyl\A1 - Carry On Wayward Son.flac E 16:24:20 Reason: No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection. E 16:24:20 Hint: You may need to install some additional DirectShow filters in order to support files of this type or the file might be corrupt. it just repeats that for every song with different names for some parts but its the same error (as far as i know)
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Do you have any non 24 bit flac files to try with? I don't know if madflac just doesn't support 24 bit files or if the filter isn't installed properly at all. If you can find anything to convert the files into 16 bit format, that would be worth a try.
BryanP Posted September 17, 2016 Author Posted September 17, 2016 i tried adding another flac from a different album and it added it correctly, does that mean the files i have just arent compatible? i dont know if they are 16bit or 24bit im not sure how to check.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 It was the folder name that gave it away (them being 24 bit) for the one you posted originally You can use something like MediaInfo to bring up the details of a file.
BryanP Posted September 17, 2016 Author Posted September 17, 2016 i found out that all the flacs that burned for me were actually 16 bit >.< so thats gotta be the problem ill convert it to 16bit through audacity or something, thanks for the help :>
