bbxrider Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 during the install there is an option to install something called chromium browser, not even sure what it is but sure don't want it. when I uncheck the boxes so that it won't install with imgburn, imgburn does not install? have tried this 2x and same result. I get an imgburn folder under program files(x86) with a "languages" and "sounds" folders under the imgburn folder but there is no imgburn.exe anywhere there. if I go to the win10 manual program selector, it shows imgburn but when clicking it I get a shortcut not found ;message. this is the current installer from the imgburn website SetupImgBurn_2.5.8.0.exe any way to get around this one? see attachment
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 That sounds weird. Which files do actually get installed? There should be 4 in the ImgBurn folder itself and 2 in the sounds folder. What you install / don't install from the offers makes no difference to the actual ImgBurn side of things. So if files are missing, it must be failing for another reason.
bbxrider Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 I donno, have been using imgburn for years, installed it on many pc's can't say for sure if there have other 'offers' as part of the install, if therewere I probably would have declined them will try downloading the install package again and see what happens imgburn folder has readme.txt and unistall.exe sounds folder has error.wav and success.wav do these counts look right?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 You should go by the MD5 on the website really. If you've only got 2 files in the ImgBurn folder, it hasn't written either of the 2 exe files. ImgBurn.exe and ImgBurnPreview.exe Maybe that's due to your AV software or similar?
bbxrider Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 I installed a previous version, 2.5.1.0, got the new version message but this time I downloaded from the major geeks mirror and that install seems to be ok there is quite a difference in the file size from major geek site btw, the I made the original post on chrome and when trying to reply to latest post, it was just dead, it would bring up the reply box but It didn't respond to any input, had to switch to firefox to get the reply to work
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Mirror 7 is different, the other mirrors should all host the exact same file though.
