I believe he's saying he tried to burn a DVD to update/program his car's navigation system and that the navigation system does not recognize the DVD as being inserted.

Unfortunately, it's probably down to the drive not recognizing that particular manufacturer's DVD has been inserted.

Can you copy+paste the text from the disc info box on the right when you're in 'Read' mode and that disc is in the drive please.

Oh and yeah, it was a tapatalk issue. I can see the complete first post on my PC but tapatalk on my phone only shows me the last 4 lines of the log text for some reason - hence why it made no sense!

Ah, that's annoying, the line of info I was looking for isn't actually implemented in 2.5.8.0.

As is the case with some Audi sat nav discs that I've looked at before, perhaps not only does the drive need to support changing the 'Book Type' to DVD-ROM (which yours does ok), they may also need to change the 'Layer Type' to 'Read Only'.

In order to check what your drive is doing, can you please do the following for me...

Eject the disc, load the program and go into Read mode.

Press the F8 key to enable I/O Debug mode.

Insert the disc.

Once the disc info panel has been populated with info (the stuff you posted in your previous post), press the F8 key again to disable I/O Debug mode.

Now save the contents of the log window to a file (via File -> Save As) and then upload it for me to examine.

Thanks :)

Based on the info you sent me (the important bit has been included above), I have to conclude your drive leaves the layer type set to 'Recordable', even though the Disc Category (book type) has been set to DVD-ROM.

Yes, hopefully it can be added relatively easily in firmware. If they can do bitsetting, I can't see a reason they wouldn't also be able to change the layer type - it's in the same 'physical format information - last recorded' structure (not that I know how it's actually recorded on the physical media).

I've mentioned this thread to a contact at Vinpower Digital and will see what they come back with. Keep your fingers crossed :)

this how i have done it sou far book-type setting:

tools->drive->change book type->advanncd->drive oem-> please select->lite-on->Optiarc DVD RW AD-5290S+-> ok
change book type->Lite-on-> please select->drive (for dvd+ r dl media)->please select->dvd-rom->change->succes!->ok
