eharriett Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I just got my first Blu ray drive. I can finally burn a number of things I have been trying to do for awhile, especially give the gift of some Star Wars Documentaries to a big fan. I've been able to successfully burn DVD's and CD's with no problem. However, My Blu Rays are totally failing. I am running a Mac and using Imgburn via VMWare Fusion. This has not caused a problem with any other format. I just purchased the drive on eBay and am fairly new to it. It has worked well so far. The drive is a MATSHITA BD-RE UJ-225S, although when I connect it to Windows for Imgburn to use it, it shows up as a VMWare Drive. I keep getting "Power Consumption errors". I did some online searching before coming here and it suggested I blow canned air through the drive (done, to no affect). And I also read I should change the media (done as well -- alternated between Verbatim BD-R, both a single and a dual layer disk). I made sure the ISO's do not exceed 25GB for SL and 50GB for DL. I was hoping to give these disks away as a Christmas present and am disappointed this is holding me up when my DVD's and CD's have gone through clean. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Your drive doesn't appear to like the discs. I can't tell which drive you've got as you seem to be using the program in a virtual environment.
eharriett Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 It's a Matshita UJ-225S. Screen cap from the About this Mac Storage tab.
