Mike098 Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Dear sir/madam, I deeply hate it, that the new version of ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 is with OpenCandy malware. Altough I think, that I opted out all additional programs during the install, my search results from Google were redirected by another search machine after the ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 install and I cannot change that. I rather pay a small amount with my credit card for a latest ImgBurn version without malware, adware and/or potential unwanted program(s) than that I end up with all sorts of malware caused in this case by OpenCandy after ImgBurn install. Now I use ImgBurn 2.5.7.0 after a clean Windows install with every program installed again, but I rather have a latest version of ImgBurn [without the OpenCandy (and Conduit software?) and similar malware]. Kind regards, Mike098.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 The 3rd party mirror sites should all be fine. The only one with the 3rd party offers during installation is from the direct mirror.
Mike098 Posted May 6, 2018 Author Posted May 6, 2018 Dear sir, Thank you very much for your information, I now have version 2.5.8.0. I tried all major burning programs, but your program is the best, without doubt. I only cannot burn DVD-RW and DVD-R DL. Kind regards, Mike098.

I have burnt numerous dual layer DVDs, but mine are +R.....wonder why that should be ?
dbminter Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 DVD+R DL allows you to set your own layer break position in the ImgBurn options, but DVD-R DL, I believe, has a static layer break and cannot be changed. So, you'll get a pause in the video that may not be seamless and cannot be changed to somewhere else should you desire it. I don't know if they even still make DVD-R DL as its limitations and less compatiblity with DVD players made it less desirable for use. I tried a few to test with and quickly abandoned them in favor of DVD+R DL. Hey, are you the same reddwarf4ever I've also seen and helped on the ConvertXToDVD forums?
reddwarf4ever Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 (edited) Yes guilty as charged, I use this where possible on forums, hopefully not a bad thing.... the multi episode DVDs I create with CXtoDVD sometimes have one episode that refuses to play, found out this is the layer break.....using IMGBurn I choose a layer break that has the IFO file, no problems since Good to meet you..... they didn’t have a social distancing Moji Edited June 12, 2020 by reddwarf4ever
dbminter Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 ch3vr0n from the VSO forums is also here, too. I always use ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS output created by CXD. I like to be able to set my own layer break, if using a DVD+R DL where it's needed. Plus, I like to do things like add the containers in a DVD I create to the root directory of the disc I burn so they're "backed up" on the DVD I've created. Wherever possible, when prompted and allowed, I like to set my layer break on a .BUP file. It's essentially the same as setting the layer break on an .IFO file.
Ch3vr0n Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Did someone call my name? And yes I'm the same user over at the VSO forums tooSent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
dbminter Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I sometimes mention on the CXD forum that people try ImgBurn for the actual burning of their output to isolate if it's the CXD burn engine that may be their playback problem. Plus, with ImgBurn, we can get logs, which will show if they're using CMC!
dbminter Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Ah, looks like I misspelled Ch3vr0n again! Used a lower case c like I think I did before.
Ch3vr0n Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Nope, the last time you used an o instead of a 0 (zero) :-PSent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Will bear that in mind, BUP or IFO....thanks
dbminter Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I don't know if it really makes a difference. I choose BUP over IFO because IFO directs how a DVD is a played. BUP is just a backup for the IFO's and I doubt it's ever really called upon unless the IFO can't be read. So, it seems more likely that a BUP file layer break set wouldn't affect actual playback of the DVD. Again, I don't know that for sure; it's just my preference.
reddwarf4ever Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 As Spock would say “Sounds logical “ will do the same thanks
RobertoSxyz Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 It's hard to suggest improvements. Image Burn look quite perfect. The only thing that is missing is the image of the girl that says: "Ooohh nooo! "
dbminter Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Topless? Or wearing CD/DVD/BD discs on her chest?
