RayP Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 My OS is Wndows 10 Version 1803. I'm trying to create an ISO file from a Windows 7 Ent SP1 DVD.I notice the activity light of my computer's DVD drive is never lit as ImgBurn says it's reading from DVD and writing to disk. See the attached file for error and log information. Please advise. Thanks!
dbminter Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I see a rather odd Warning I've never seen before: "Found end of disc." I don't know this error but since the resulting image file you tried to mount appears to be corrupted, the problem would seem to be either your drive thinks it found the end of the disc when it wasn't the end of the disc or the disc you're trying to read has gone bad. Barring trying to read this disc in another drive, that's about all I can say to try. Try to read the disc in another drive. If you still get the same error, then it would seem there's something wrong with the Windows 7 disc you're trying to read.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Can you copy and paste everything from the disc info box on the right of the main window please?
RayP Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 I tried a different DVD drive (USB) and ImgBurn worked. I also tried creating the ISO with the original internal drive and other software (InfraRecorder) and was successful. I guess there's something about ImgBurn paired with my internal drive that's causing a problem. Here's the data from the disc info box: PLDS DVD+-RW DU-8A5LH 6D1M (RAID) Current Profile: DVD-ROM Disc Information: Status: Complete State of Last Session: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 1,553,337 Size: 3,181,234,176 bytes Time: 345:13:12 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Read Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x Current Read Speed: 1.7x - 4x TOC Information: Session 1... (LBA: 0) -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 1553336) -> LeadOut (LBA: 1553337) Track Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (LTSA: 16580608, LTS: 1, LRA: 0) Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 0 Disc Size: 120 mm Maximum Read Rate: 2.52 Mbps Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 0 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 0 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0
dbminter Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I can understand this: "First Physical Sector of Data Area: 0" but the next ones don't make much sense to me: Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 0 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 It seems like the drive isn't returning information for these values. In fact, would the first sector be listed as 0? Is there a Sector 0, given that computers start numbering at 0?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 ImgBurn uses the 'Track Information' values and they're not right either. Track Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (LTSA: 16580608, LTS: 1, LRA: 0) LTSA is Logical Track Start Address LTS is Logical Track Size So this is just a drive / media combo issue.
