bloodyroar Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Hello, i did an image of an Original Disc with dvd decry*****, and got an iso/mds, than i wanted too burn the whole disc to a dvd9 but i got this error (like on the pic), didnt had the problem before, its the first time.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 The image probably came from a PTP disc. You won't be able to burn it with a proper layerbreak unless you extract the contents and make a new image.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 That doesn't really mean anything bloodyroar. Every disc is different, this one just happens to have L0 That is not permitted on OTP discs so therefore this one must have come from PTP.

blutach Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 If you have DVD files, you can use ImgBurn's build mode to build another image. I have never heard of a PTP DVD-Video. It may be the DVD is authored in such a way (ie layer 0 totally full) that ImgBurn can't find a proper ECC boundary upon which to place the LB. Note - we do not give advice about ripping DVDs. LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Really Blu?! I've got quite a few that come up as PTP in the disc info. *Finding* the layerbreak is not really the issue here. I assume Bloodyroar would be loading from an MDS so the original LB would be preserved. The reason it's not being, and hence why ImgBurn is searching full stop, is that the LB in the MDS is not usable on OTP media. What comes after that is almost to be expected - i.e. where no cells just happen to be aligned on an ECC boundary and still let L0 >= L1.

blutach Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 @LUK! Yes - I never seen one and IIRC, the spec is for them to be OTP to minimise disruption to the viewing. Lemme check and revert. EDIT: According to Taylor, PTP can be used but really only where there are 2 versions of the movie on the disk (WS/FS) (or where it is full of extras and the main flick does not cross the LB). He says, sequential playback demands OTP. For PTP, we need 2 leadins (I guess it's like 2 SL DVDs packed on top of each other). This doesn't mean that in an episodic DVD, for example, where sequential playback across the LB is usually not a consideration, the physical layout of a DVD could not be PTP. All the more reason to have files and not an ISO, IMHO. Regards
