pyorkie Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Hi I've had to reinstall Imgburn and now I can't drag and drop the folders/files as I did before .... what setting do I need to check? Thanks in advance for any help!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 How did you drag and drop them before? What's different now? Make sure you aren't running the app as 'admin', drag and drop won't always work between Explorer and ImgBurn if you do. Also, if the installer launches the app, it'll be running as admin... so just close it and open it again.
pyorkie Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 Hey ... now it works ....... thanks for the info ..... great stuff Peter
dbminter Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Odd. Why wouldn't drag and drop work in ImgBurn if it's running as an Administrator?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 explorer won't drop into a process that's running with a higher level of access.
dbminter Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Ah, I did not know that. And, Explorer.exe doesn't run at a high level of access? I would have thought, if anything, explorer.exe would have the highest access imaginable.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 It's to do with that UAC stuff... as in, where it prompts you to perform certain 'admin' type operations. It runs at a lower level to keep you safer.
dbminter Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Yes, that makes sense. Many times Explorer has refused to delete files, even when I'm the administrator. So, it must not have higher privileges to do that.
