cornholio7 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 two things, use vebatim for dual layer, ritek are crap the other, is that a scsi drive? if not, update your chipset drivers
dontasciime Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 sounds like my broken pioneer 109. Think they may tell you the discs are rubbish. My external usb2 caddy that used ALI chipset used to also chuck up errors like this all the time.
Paradox Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 two things, use vebatim for dual layer, ritek are crap the other, is that a scsi drive? if not, update your chipset drivers ok i will buy some soon.Yep its a scsi drive.but i updated the chipset drivers anyway just to make shore. The burner isnt even 24hours old,so i hope its not faulty.I also removed anydvd and alcohol 120% virtual drive. will post again soon when i buy some verbatim discs.(fingers crossed )
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 lol it's not a SCSI drive, nobody really makes them these days. Your drivers are just emulating it as a SCSI device - probably because they offer some kind of RAID functionality somewhere along the line. Make sure the drive is connected to the proper IDE channels that are part of the motherboards southbridge, NOT any 3rd party IDE controller you may or may not also have onboard. Most add in PCI cards do NOT support optical drives.
