It is a virtual drive.

It isn't behaving itself - maybe use a different program for your virtual drive?

Just keep clicking cancel until the errors go away.

What virtual drive software were you using?  I use Virtual CloneDrive and don't have a similar problem.  It hasn't been updated for a while, but I've been using it for years.
