C_P Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 ImgBurn has been an amazing tool that's worked reliably for me for a long time. So many options! However, I think I broke something now, because as you can see below, the "Calculator" function in the build mode needed for determining the layer break is stopping incomplete. In the below project, it seems to cancel at 73%, in another similar project it halts at 98%. Re-start ImgBurn, re-boot computer, etc., doesn't help! This was working on this same project last night. What causes this to happen? How can I repair it? ImgBurn v2.5.8.0 on latest Windows 10 Pro.
C_P Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 Strike the above, just realized that the 73% relates to "Media Usage %", not computation completeness! Still not clear, however, how to review and change the layer break while in build ISO file mode when the Compute operation does not prompt me!
dbminter Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 What I do is start the Build operation, which prompts me to set the layer break information. I usually use that window as I've never manually edited the layer break info before.
C_P Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 Yeah, but I'm not getting that window for some reason. Maybe because it is a data disc?
dbminter Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Oh, it's not a DVD Video disc? OIC now. According to that screen shot, you are making a "data disc." There's no VIDEO_TS folder, so it's not a DVD Video Disc. Layer breaks only apply to DVD Video discs. So, yes, you won't see that layer break info for a "data disc." Technically, everything other than an Audio CD is a "data disc." DVD Video discs are just treated as discs with data, although they have specialized data for specific hardware players to play back.
faheemasad Posted Saturday at 11:02 AM Posted Saturday at 11:02 AM The person is not creating a DVD-Video disc; they're creating a data disc
faheemasad Posted Sunday at 02:36 AM Posted Sunday at 02:36 AM ImgBurn has been incredibly reliable for me too, so it’s frustrating when a feature that worked before suddenly stops partway through. It may be worth checking the project structure, available disk space, or whether a particular file is causing the calculation to hang. I’d also check the ImgBurn logs for clues before reinstalling anything. Hopefully you can get it working again without rebuilding the whole project. For anyone who regularly needs to work with time calculations, I also came across Calculadora Horas, which can be handy for quickly calculating worked hours and time differences
