Error: Device Not Ready (Incompatible Medium Installed)

Hi! I'm getting the error, "Error: Device Not Ready (Incompatible Medium Installed)" and would love some help resolving it. 

I'm using Windows 10 and have made sure everything is up to date. I've checked for driver updates to the external BD rom device. 

My Blu-ray discs have a 50gb limit and I'm well under that with ~31.3GB total. None of my files exceed the 4.3GB limit. 

Let me know if there's any other information that would be helpful in troubleshooting this.

That drive is a dvd writer, not a BD writer.

 

It only ‘reads’ bd-roms.
