The DVD works great in stand alone player which was the desired outcome but would like to know why it wouldn't verify. I've read a few posts and have some ideas as to what went wrong but thought I'd like to hear it from the horses mouth.

Thanks .

Ritek DL media isn't really all that good and I don't really understand why your drive ONLY lists 4x as as supported write speed - especially when it doesn't even burn very well at 2.4x in most drives!

All that's happened is the drive has produced a low quality burn... so low in fact that it can't then read it back.

Your standalone is probably skipping the errors or is just a better reader.

Tnx for the input. 'ya think I should try a slower speed and check out the results? If I can find some verbatim DL discs I'll pick some up and give 'em a try.

That's the thing, according to your log, the drive doesn't support anything other than 4x on that media.

So even if you select 2.4x, it'll still burn at 4x.

Alrighty then! I guess I'll just try another and see what happens. I'm quite happy with the dvd that emerged from the non-verifying log though! LOL

Thanx again

I have had terrible burns with Ritek DL media and the shelf life of a burnt disc would also concern me as well.

My DL burns with Verbs have been problem free and my first one that ever burnt (well over a year - might be almost two now) still plays problem free. :)
