Why does video / audio ts show up

I just bought a new Toshiba r5 dvd recorder/player. It will not play my burned dvds. My cheap old Sony dvd player would. It shows up as video ts/audio on screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what are you using to burn them with author them etc, your DVD maybe able to play so called un-authored, so maybe browse to any folder it is showing you and see if you can play whats inside them.
