L-EC Uncorrectable Error

Does this error have to due with a bad disc or is it encryption?

Encryption doesn't stop something from being physically read, it stops you from understanding what it says.

All you're seeing there is a physical defect on the disc.

no the media id, pop a disc in and look in the right hand pane

these discs shown in this screenshot are YUDEN000-T02-00
