I'm trying to back up a few games for ps2 and no matter what i try, it wont go further than writing leadin. ive already tried different speeds and also tried higher quality media bur neither have resolved the issue.

if any one can help i would appreciate it so very much.

The only thing I can see that might be problem is it's a slim drive.  Slim drives generally are just junk.  You're using quality MCC media, so it's not like you're using CMC junk.

 

You could try checking for a firmware update, but I doubt that will help.  In Write mode, right click on D : and choose the last item in the context menu to check for firmware update.

 

Barring that, you could try getting a half height drive and putting it in a USB enclosure.

thanks man i appreciate it! I'll try that out but i guess ultimately im gonna have to get a new driver. it was one of amazons choices and it sucks lol.
