Is it possible to turn a dvd+r into dvd-r using image burn?

Assuming you're talking about the physical discs themselves.

It's like turning an apple into a banana.

If, however, you have something burnt to a DVD+R that you want to burn to a DVD-R, that's something totally different.

Oh, yeah, I didn't think of it in that way.  If you have a DVD+R and you want to "convert" it to DVD-R, you can't physically transmute the DVD+R to DVD-R, but you can copy the DVD+R's contents to a DVD-R.  Just insert the DVD+R into a drive, use ImgBurn's Read mode to read the DVD+R to an image file, and then use ImgBurn's Write mode to burn that image read in Read mode to a DVD-R.

Hi!
Late to the topic, but I just sprouted an idea.

I assume jigy wants to do such a thing because of a compatibility issue with his read/write drive, so probably any software method to trick the drive might be a big no-no.
Honestly, if this were the case, I would just get a few DVD-R and do my thing. Way easier method.

I recommend DVD-R over DVD+R because they are slightly larger in capacity and they're older technology, which means they have a higher compatibility rate with older physical DVD players.

And AFAIK with DVD-R the optics of the burner/reader device have longer life (because of the fewer movements during writing/reading).

One of the few advantages of DVD+R over DVD-R is they don't take as long for some basic writing tasks such as Writing LeadIn.

The primary reason DVD+R exists at all is a consortium of companies such as Sony didn't want to pay the licensing fee for DVD-R's logo.  So, they simply created DVD+R that they all could own and license THAT to others making the money for THEMSELVES.

Not surprising, that's Sony.

Good thing they haven't licensed the air yet, and had us paying fee for breathing. :)

Sony would call it the Playstation DVD+Air.
