Godork
Ok, so I tried to burn a dvd video image to a DVD-R and it failed on me, resulting with empty but used DVD-R. Three times. After searching the forum a bit, I realize it may be because crappy DVD-R media I'm using? Still it's funny how it fails on the first sector each time... I even upgraded the drive's firmware to no avail. Tried another ISO file, no luck. Well, at least my desk remains clean with something to put my tea mugs on. I have used ImgBurn to burn some CD-R(W)s before with no problems. I think I have one DVD-R video disc (same media that fail me now) lying around which was burned with no problems, although I think I didn't burn it with ImgBurn. If it's because of the crap samsung media, and I see you recommend Verbatim media here, I could buy pretty cheap Verbatim "Advanced AZO+ recording dye" DVD-R media if needed, is that the right one? I'd still rather not throw these away, so if there's a way to get something non-vital burned on them that would be cool. If not, that's ok too. Anyway, here's the log and the I/O error popup window. Kenadjian
I 18:51:52 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: OPTODISCR008) (Speeds: 4x; 8x) You can't get much worse than this. I'd still rather not throw these away, so if there's a way to get something non-vital burned on them that would be cool. If not, that's ok too. They really are good for nothing, do yourself a favor and toss em.Verbatim "Advanced AZO+ recording dye" DVD-R media if needed, is that the right one? Just go with the dye type, if they are MCC then they should be fine.
Godork
Just go with the dye type, if they are MCC then they should be fine. What's MCC? How do I recognize without getting my hands on them? I mean, web stores rarely give very accurate information about anything... would these be acceptable? I think they are the same ones as tested here. Thanks for the help.
