Device Not Ready (Head Select Fault)

Can someone tell me what the problem is and how i can fix this? I'm trying to rip an image off a dvd, by the way.

ImgBurn is NOT a ripper, it is strictly a burning program. For legal reasons, that I will not go into here, we DO NOT discuss ripping or any form of copying media that you do not own the INTELLECTUAL rights to. Meaning that if you bought, rented, borrowed or somehow gained posession of a dvd that you did not author, we will not assist you in making a copy, fair-use laws or not.

You can find the information that you need by using a good search engine and typing in what you want to do. I would suggest Google as your starting place.

If you have a problem using IB to burn whatever info/data you have on your hdd please feel free to ask a question...or several...and we'll help you get what you need done, as long as you do not refer to any type of ripping/shrinking program or other prohibited activity in your post.

ahh, I see...that's a shame.

Dvd decrypter used to rip, right? Is that the reason why it was shut down?

 

And what does the "head select fault" mean?

It means your drive can't initialise the disc - this is an internal function and nothing to do with any software.

 

Either the disc is just screwed or your drive's firmware can't cope - try updating it.
