jjabba Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 (edited) I've got a LaCie brand External USB/Firewire burner with a NEC 3500AG unit inside. It's falshed with the latest official firmware 2.1A. Although it's not critical for me, it would be nice to be able to use the "booktype" change feature. But ImgBurn will not succed in changing the booktype for DVD+R to DVD-ROM. I only get a dialog saying "Failed!" I Guess the reason for this is that the burner is located in an external enclosure. But I'm unsure why this matters as I had no problems flashing the new bios to the device while it was still in the enclosure. (I used binflasher for that) If I can't make the changes with ImgBurn, can I then make them with binflasher? Edited January 13, 2007 by jjabba
cornholio7 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 nec's official firmware doesn't allow for bitsetting on +r discs, only dvd+r dl
jjabba Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 nec's official firmware doesn't Am I to interpret this as rpc1s unofficial firmware will allow you to do this?
jjabba Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 a liggy and dee one will from cdfreaks Just flashed my burner with Liggys 2.1B RPC1 riplock firmware, and now imgburn reports "Success!" instead of "failed!". Borat would say: "Great success!, wawawiwha"
