Is the above information obtained before you have burnt the discs ?

Is there a newer firmware available for your drive ? I tried a quick search over at www.rpc1.org but couldn't find anything, you can look yourself from the ImgBurn Gui window. Right click where you can see your drive (left of window) and then select Firmware Update from the list, if there are any available it should find it for you. Maybe an updated firmware will fix the problem.

dvd-girl, apparently you do have the lastest firmware for your drive:

TS-L532B

Could you do another burn and then post the log of the burn so we can see whats happening. As lfc said, was the above info taken after a burn? Throw a fresh blank disc into your drive>open Img>copy and paste the info from the window on the right.

I didn't burn a verbatim-disc yet, cause imgburn tell me that the disc (all 5 of my new package) is already completed, so I couldn't burn anything on the disc.

I already installed the firmware from the dell support.

When I put my platinum-DL in the drive, imgburn says it's empty. Another platinum was said to be completed too, I don't know what the problem could be. :(

It wouldn't be unheard of for a drive to be on its way out after 14 months. This is just a supposition though and one of the other guys may have other options to help you. What other burning software do you have on your laptop, windv, etc........

I've just talked to Dell and they think that the drive doesn't work proper and i'll get a new drive.

I hope this solve the problems with dual layer discs.

Once you get that new drive up and running try the burn again and let us know whats happening. :)

Sounds likely doesn't it ? Are Dell replacing it under warranty ?

Yes, Dell is replacing it under warrenty. They've sent me a philips drive and it works fantastic! :)

I've just burnt 2 discs and the verbatim as well as the platinum are recognized in the standalone dvd-player!

Thanks for your help!
